Spring

1. Completion of MOST Fund Grant $28,000 project “Swamp Access and interpretation at Lee Tartt Nature Preserve” thanks to contractors Kevin Baker, Delta Design Build and metal fabrication by Provine Machine Works

2. Repurposed railroad timber Installations at Bottomland Trailhead in partnership with Delta Design Build and Grenada Railroad

3. Recipient of Grenada Tourism Grant for design, fabrication and installation of signs on installed timbers

4. Best Music Video at Jackson Film Festival of a FCS production featuring Sally Vee directed by Jamie Kornegay 

5. Partnership with Mississippi Wildlife Fisheries & Parks Whitetail Management Program for scientific approach to LTNP archery conservation program

6. 2 high school interns at Lee Tartt Nature Preserve - Dominique & Noah 

7. Hosted school groups from University of Mississippi, Grenada School District, Booneville Middle School, Pelahatchie Upper Elementary, Holmes Community College

DO YOU KNOW…

  • We are the charter organization for Scouting America Swamp Scouts Troop #4018

  • We are in the design and engineering phase of a pavilion & restroom project with Delta Design Build, Native Habitats and Willis Engineering

  • Native Habitats, landscape architect and ecological design firm, is working on a preliminary masterplan for Lee Tartt Nature Preserve

  • Lee Tartt Nature Preserve maintains trails and conducts management activities every Tuesday and Thursday morning..and we love volunteers.

  • Canoes and kayaks are available to anyone free of charge. Guides are available for donations.

  • Exciting learning / volunteer opportunities are coming up in 2026 - stay tuned!

  • We are a grassroots 501c3 non-profit organization that is 100% supported by donations
